N Rampart Apartments - Lux 3BD 2BA French Quarter w Courtyard

The two-bedroom suite and kitchenette worked well for our group of four, and the hotel is an easy walk from the French Quarter. On-site parking is in a gated lot and costs $45 per night, so contact the hotel directly to reserve a spot. The cruise port is about a quick 15-minute drive away. There's also a Hop on-Hop off bus stop right at the front door, with North Rampart cable car stops just steps away.

Check-in was a mess. The lobby smelled strongly of mildew, and when it was time to put a card on file, the card machine supposedly wasn't working. The front desk attendant asked if we could write down the card number. No way. We booked a two-bedroom room for four, with all four guests registered on the hotel website, but still got charged an extra $120. They said their policy charges $20 per person per day after two people. A total rip-off. They asked how many keys we needed, then said they only had two even though we were paying for four adults. When we asked about speaking with a manager or when one would be in, the attendant said she didn't know. A different attendant gave us the same answer the second night. There was no daily housekeeping, and we had to go downstairs to the front office ourselves for towels and other items. The toilet clogged every day, the shower just dribbled with almost no pressure, the microwave didn't work, and old dirty towels were left in the bathroom. A horrible experience, and I wouldn't recommend this place.

Jonathan was wonderful and so helpful. When the TV stopped working, we got help right away. They also offered to hold our bags after checkout so we could keep exploring NOLA. We had a great stay and would absolutely recommend it.

The whole suite was clean and spacious, and the staff were attentive and helpful. I liked the location: it's away from the noise, most things are within a 15-minute walk, and a 24-hour gas station is just steps away. The shower curtains aren't long enough, so the bathroom floor gets wet, and signs pointing to the elevators would be useful.
