Oakview Bed and Breakfast

I've been staying at Oak View and nowhere else for about four years. Russell Bowie is so kind, down to earth, and accommodating. He's become a friend. The house feels like home while still giving you privacy, and every room has its own character. It's clean, and Russell is easy to get hold of. The spot is perfect for me. City Park and the museum are across the street, and the trolley is an easy walk away. I can park at the house and use public transit, which feels much safer than leaving the car in local lots or garages. There are also local places that deliver or are nice for a meal out, without the crowds, waits, and high prices in the Quarter's tourist areas. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. 😍😍

The room wasn't cleaned well, and there was mold and dust on the vents. No breakfast was served. The B&B needs updating and hasn't been maintained well. The awards displayed were from 2015. There was no off-street parking available because the owner had parked in the driveway.

Russell makes sure guests have what they need, down to little things like sunscreen in the room and a delicious home-cooked breakfast in the morning. He's a very gracious, kind host, and the southern hospitality is top notch. This family-run B&B is quaint and in a quiet spot across from City Park, near the trolley stop. I first booked because I could walk to the Jazz Fest venue. I'll keep coming back for the warmth and care Russell shows his guests.

Russell was a lovely, friendly host and pointed me toward the best snowballs I've ever had. The location made it easy to get to and from the French Quarters, with City Park, Café Du Monde, the art museum, Pandora's Snowballs, and the trolley all nearby. The house is beautiful, full of old treasures, and my room was clean. I enjoyed my stay at the Oakview Bed and Breakfast.
