Hampton Inn & Suites Baton Rouge - I-10 East

I was in town with my son for LSU graduation, and the location was great. The breakfast really stood out: waffles you make yourself, eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bagels, pastries, fruit, and lots of juices. I don’t think it gets enough appreciation. Thank you.

The front desk gal was friendly and bubbly, but the smells throughout the place were awful. The lobby had a musty odor, the elevators smelled like sweat, and the hallways had cologne sprayed around, as if to cover mold and dampness. The rooms weren’t terrible, just very outdated. After a long day traveling I was too tired and defeated to find somewhere else, but this is a very poor look for the Hampton / Hilton brand.

We were traveling with 2 adults and 1 child, and after checking in the stay went downhill fast. The TV wouldn’t turn on, the toilet wouldn’t flush and overflowed even though there was nothing solid in it, and the room phone didn’t work. At the desk, a gentleman said he’d come up and check everything, as though we didn’t know how to use a TV or toilet. We waited, but he never showed. We asked to move rooms and got every excuse, then were told to wait longer. On our third trip to the desk, the same man acted as if we’d never spoken and said, “im off the clock, you will need to talk to her over there.” Nobody ever came to look at the problems. We were told they couldn’t do anything for the room or move us, and that we could leave or deal with it. After a full day of travel, being told to kick rocks was infuriating.

There’s a very noticeable hump in the floor in front of the fridge, a trip hazard, and the room didn’t look properly cleaned. I found popcorn on the floor and mold in the shower. I’m a business owner myself and usually don’t complain, but I’d want someone to tell me about these issues. This is the dirtiest Hilton I’ve ever been in. I won’t be back.
