Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Davenport East

The hot tub was broken, and breakfast was basically toast. On top of that, the manager was incredibly rude and the housekeepers lied, in my view. They kept my $100 deposit, claimed falsely that I’d smoked in the room, then charged another $100. I do not smoke. I feel they took my money and lied about it. I’ll never book another room with Day's Inn. They need to be more careful about who they let operate under their umbrella clause.

We told the attendant right away when my daughter spilled a little chocolate milk on the bedding, but at midnight they said they couldn’t do anything. No fresh bedding was offered, and they said it couldn’t be washed until checkout. We stripped the bed, left everything by the door for pickup, cleaned the room, and even took out the trash. After we got home, I was told they couldn’t remove a small amount of chocolate milk and would charge $100 to the card on file. It seems like an excuse to get money. New bedding would cost much less than that. The hotel itself is older, with very few breakfast choices, a dirty pool and hot tub, some floors coming up, and a little mold on the room curtains. It’s ridiculous that trying to do the right thing got us turned away and then charged.

We’ll stay here again when we come back to davenport. The beds were roomy and really comfortable, there was a nice-sized fridge in the room, and daily housekeeping was handy. The continental breakfast was good. Staff were friendly, helpful, and so nice, and the pool was warm while the hot tub was properly hot.

The pool area put me off using either the pool or hot tub. There were algae puddles that stayed there my whole visit, and scum had built up in every corner of the hot tub. My room could’ve been cleaner too. Staff, though, were very friendly, and someone even printed something for me free of charge. Housekeeping checked daily about trash, changing it, or bringing fresh towels.
