The building is gorgeous and full of history, which is why I really wanted to like staying here. But the room seemed worn and less clean than I expected for what it cost. Hallway noise kept making it hard to sleep, and the service and upkeep fell short during my stay.

My sister’s baby shower went so well, and the staff who helped us throughout were incredibly kind. They did everything they could to make the event feel perfect. I can’t say enough good things about them. I’d absolutely recommend them for an event!

Erin M handled all our event questions and changes with so much patience and professionalism. Ashley, Juliette, and Theresa in F&B were a pleasure to work with, and Kelly and Stephen at the front desk were friendly and easy to approach. All six people I mentioned went beyond what their roles called for. Hotel Blackhawk and the Marriott brand are lucky to have them. Thanks again, Erin, Ashley, Juliette, Theresa, Stephen, and Kelly! I was organizing a company event, and nearly everyone I met on staff was friendly and helpful. There was one exception. The hotel itself has plenty to do, from the spa, pool, hot tub, fitness center, and bowling alley to its lovely event spaces. It’s also close to Adler Theatre, Figge Art Museum, the Rock Island Arsenal, and more. I love the character and history here. A few maintenance jobs and guest room details could use attention, but I still gave it five stars based on my experience.

I spent $3,000, and my time on the morning of my wedding and the day of the event was wasted. I’m a Davenport local, and I thought Hotel Blackhawk was a nice place with high service standards. My mother was married here, so we know this is not how event spaces should be run. I’ll be telling people to avoid renting a space here. This whole thing felt like a complete scam, and I’m left dumbfounded. There was a $500 service charge for one server, even though most of my 70 expected guests didn’t interact with them. I only spoke with the server when I was asked to pay. I was fine paying for the food provided for the guests I expected, but this charge felt extremely unprofessional. I also had to request pricing breakdowns and ask random people where the event was, since there were so few staff around. This was my second event connected to Hotel Blackhawk. Last year, I attended a brunch they sold tickets for, I believe for Mother's Day. It was badly handled, with too little food, poor table service, and low-quality food. The event ended so badly that my family received a $500 gift card to make up for the ticket prices. Even so, I trusted them with my personal event. On my wedding morning, they called to ask whether I was attending my event, which was the next day, not that day. The date had been entered incorrectly on their end. My fiancé and I had to make several calls to sort it out while I was trying to get ready for the wedding. I have my contacts saved with the event date.

A nice, classic hotel in downtown with large rooms and the usual amenities. But don't eat at the restaurant. As a Marriott elite member, breakfast was included, except the only included choice was one menu item. Otherwise, I got $10 off, but the only thing priced at $10 was a plain omelet. There were just two other tables occupied, yet breakfast took an hour and 20 minutes. When I asked for coffee, the server turned the cups over and came back 20 minutes later. I mentioned the wait to the front desk and got a shrug from a very unfriendly clerk. Also, they don’t take cash. We won’t be coming back.
