Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dayton Highway 90 by IHG

I’d have rated the hotel 4.5 if my wife hadn’t been made to leave our room at 11 a.m. for checkout. I had asked for an extra hour to finish work, but staff said they couldn’t accommodate it and told her she had to leave. She ended up waiting in the lobby until I was done. I was disappointed they couldn’t let her stay comfortable until I could join her.

The beds were wonderfully comfy and the rooms clean. I was there for a week while repairs were being done at home, and almost didn’t want to leave, haha. Miss breakfast? The donut place by the parking lot has great coffee and kolaches, and Kung Fu Tea next to it has incredible pho.

We got in at 12:30 at night and took the king suite they had available. I pulled up the couch cushions to make a bed for my son and found old food and clothes underneath. The front desk apologized and said we could sort it out in the morning, with housekeeping coming first thing to clean. At 9 a.m., housekeeping still hadn’t shown up. I was then told that since I’d chosen to stay in the room, they weren’t going to do anything to make it right. That was rude and very unprofessional. I won’t ever go back.

The front desk service was great, and the pricing was reasonable. My first night on the third floor was really good, but after moving to the first floor, the room smelled like mildew. Other than that, it’s nice.
