Emerald Shores Resort

The location right on the beach was great, and the pool area was lovely with the Atlantic waves in the background. The room was okay, though I really dislike getting a blanket without a cover. The floor was a little bit juicy, too, but at $80 a day I couldn’t complain.

We had an amazing time at Emerald Shores and loved the beach view. Trish greeted us at the counter and checked us in early, and she was great. Mark the manager was friendly, and all the staff were so helpful. We’ll definitely come back.

The view was amazing, and the older white gentleman at the front desk was great. The other woman there when we arrived wasn’t very nice and didn’t seem to care much about hospitality. I had high hopes for a place that cost $150 a night, but the first cabinet I opened had a live roach inside. The toilet had a liner on the lid suggesting it had been cleaned, but there was urine in the bowl. I told the front desk and they gave me the room next door. The room keys only worked once for some reason, which meant many trips to the front desk. The TV wouldn’t connect to WiFi, and the in-room phone didn’t work when I picked it up to call about the TV. There was basic cable, at least. The water only got warm at best, not hot enough for a shower, and the shampoo bottle was dirty. The “breakfast” wasn’t much either: one pastry was already open and the first muffin my partner bit into was stale. Thankfully, the gentleman at the desk brought out a fresh box.

The room was filthy when we arrived: dirty sheets, and hair all over the bathroom floor, shower, and counter. We asked for another room or for someone to clean it, but were told there was no staff on site to do either. The customer service was horrible. We had to leave and find somewhere else, and we’re still waiting for a refund.
