Last October we stayed at the Sherwin for two weeks and enjoyed the beach access. The downside was construction to replace windows and patio doors, which woke us every weekday morning. We came back this year for the whole month of October after calling Jackie, the building manager, several times to ask about hurricane Ian. We were finally told the building was fine and the power was on. But the pool is closed, the seawall is down, and there’s no beach access. They still haven’t opened the pool, even though it’s in no danger and was cleaned two weeks ago. The jacuzzi and one of the two elevator banks are out of order too. An owner told us they’d been down since mid September, though Jackie made it sound like Ian caused the problems. Construction is still happening every weekday morning when the weather is nice, starting around 8:15-8:30 AM. It sounds like a war zone through the walls. There’s blue plastic over all the ocean-facing bedroom windows, blocking the beach view. I have videos if anyone wants to hear it. When we asked Jackie about the pool, she said she didn’t need to talk to us because we weren’t on the lease. We share the cost of unit 1803 with another couple, and Jackie even issued us a garage parking permit, so how can we not be on the lease? Other residents said she’s difficult to deal with, and we found that to be putting it mildly. We worked and saved all year for this vacation. Some of the problems are due to the hurricane, granted, but the constant noise and management’s snarky, uncaring attitude have made it a very hard stay. We’ll never stay at The Sherwin again. I hope this helps as you consider your vacation.

We picked a great spot for a family vacation. The condo feels fresh and clean, and it had everything we needed. Everyone was friendly, too. It really felt like a home away from home.

We'd stayed at the Sherwin before and loved it when we rented directly from a family, but this trip left us feeling robbed by the rental management. We were charged $2,800.00 for about 20 hours in a beautiful condo, which works out to more than $1,000 per hour and was absolutely not worth it. We had booked 18 days, but after the governor closed beaches, restaurants, bars and lounges the day after check-in, with Disney- Universal and other places closed and talk of closing state borders because of COVID, our family insisted we return to Tennessee right away. We were told we'd get credit for two weeks to rebook later. Once home, we got a letter saying the owner had changed their mind and the credit was void. There were problems from the start. In 2020, when I was 68 and my mother was 88, we booked a third-floor room and had specifically discussed that we didn't want to be moved higher. On arrival, they tried to switch us to a room on a much higher floor. We also paid extra for an ocean beach view, only to find the balcony locked during renovations and repairs, with blue plastic over all the windows to reduce the risk of shattering glass. We were very disappointed. It wasn't what we booked, and we'd never recommend renting from the Sherwin's rental management.

Jackie, the manager, came across as really unprofessional and rude when I called for information before booking. I explained I was planning to reserve a room and wanted to know whether the pool and beach access were available before paying. She responded in an inappropriate way that I should already know if the beach access was available if I intended to stay. After that awful first impression, I asked her name. If you want a place with nice management, I wouldn't book here.

The drilling made the suite hard to live in. Renovations on balconies above us meant the power drill was so loud we couldn't have a conversation, and the rooms shook. It woke us in the morning and kept going through the day, making it very difficult to enjoy the room.
