Holiday Inn Daytona Beach LPGA Boulevard by IHG

The room was crawling with ticks, fleas, and bedbugs. When I reported it, the front desk person didn't even apologize or say anything. At 9 PM, the woman at the front desk was chatting online in the office while I waited out front to check in, and took her time coming over. The stair exit doors were almost impossible to open, and room 312 had a jammed door that took a lot of force to get open. The TV didn't work either. I had two service dogs and gave the front desk a copy of the service dog letter, but the hotel still charged my card $50 per dog. The nearest and best thing around was a 7 Eleven three blocks away; if you're looking for nearby food, you're out of luck. I usually don't write reviews, but I wanted to save someone else from making my mistake and staying at this dump.

The lobby gave me the impression this might be a nice place to stay, but the room was disgusting. The carpet was crusty, there was rust and mold, and I found hairs on the bed and in the bathroom. Then cockroaches appeared, so I packed up and switched rooms. They said the replacement was newly renovated, clean, and bug-free, but it was still dirty. All they offered was an apology. I would never stay here again.

The jetted tub was filthy when we checked in for two nights. I went politely to the front desk, and they apologized and said someone would come first thing in the morning. The next day we went out, but when we got back the tub was still just as dirty as on day one. I went down again around 2 or 2:30 pm, and it wasn't cleaned until later. By then I didn't trust that it had been cleaned, so I no longer wanted to use it. I wiped it and the towel came away dirty, and there was hair near the drain. At checkout I was charged the full amount, and my invoice had “BCU college” noted on it. Why was that there? Was that why I had to pay days in advance? Discrimination! I'll gladly upload pictures. I've made several calls to management and Corporate, and all they offered was points toward a future stay. The worst customer service. I will never book with Holiday Inn again. Do not book here.

The room felt neglected and unsanitary, with grime and rust in several places, including around the tub and fixtures. The carpet had a strong smell and looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. I also saw rust on the lamp and dirt on the doors. For what I paid, I expected much better upkeep and hygiene. The hotel's cleanliness was far below what I expected, and I can't recommend it unless they make major improvements to maintenance and cleaning.
