Homewood Suites by Hilton Daytona Beach Speedway-Airport

Natalie and Evan were super helpful when we just checked in. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable. One of my best stays with Hilton, kudos to the team.

The location was very nice and close to everything, but our stay at this Hilton was extremely disappointing. The room was very dirty, which shocked me, even though the hotel looks remodeled. Basic things were missing too: the pullout bed had no blankets or pillows, so we had to call the front desk, and there were no utensils in the room. The TV remote had no batteries and didn't work, which meant another trip downstairs. Management needs to hire better cleaning staff and make sure rooms are cleaned, stocked, and checked before guests arrive.

The front desk staff acted condescending when we told them the hot tub was cold. They insisted it was supposed to be cold because it was a whirlpool, not a hot tub. Nice try if they think anyone will buy that. We spent 3N/4D at an otherwise nice hotel with a good breakfast. Our remodeled room could have been cleaner. I was surprised so much was already broken after the remodel, including bathroom tiles, and there was dirt on the countertops below the mirrors.

It’s a really nice place that’s been remodeled and feels fresh, but a few things keep it from feeling finished. The kitchen is advertised as usable for cooking, yet there were no utensils, spatula, or cooking fork, and no frying pan at first. The one the front desk brought looked discarded, with a scratched, worn cooking surface. The pool and spa weren’t heated, one of the two elevators was out of service, and the bedroom thermostat needs replacing. Breakfast was decent, with eggs, sausage, potatoes, oatmeal, waffles, cereal, fruit, bananas, muffins, bagels, toast, and even little containers of 2% milk. Nice place, almost.
