Homewood Suites by Hilton Seattle-Tacoma Airport/Tukwila

We left because the fire alarm kept blaring. My blood pressure was high, my husband was distressed, and our ears were ringing and hurting badly. I was already feeling ill and trying to rest, but we had to rush out. When my husband asked the front desk about the alarm, the clerk didn’t seem to care and couldn’t say when it would stop. She said she couldn’t check us out until the next day, which made no sense, but we had no choice but to leave. He called the following day to ask for a refund for the remaining 5 days, and that same clerk said she couldn’t refund us because we had prepaid. On our first day, a rude, dismissive clerk had told my husband no rooms were available, then just a minute later I confirmed with another clerk that one was available. Is this how Hilton treats people who have been loyal members for years?

My room was clean and ready when I got there, and I’ve had a pleasant stay. The staff have been very attentive. Chef Quetta made a delicious breakfast on Friday. Thank you.

The two bedroom suite upgrade through our diamond status was a nice break, but the rest of the stay wasn’t special. Several things in the room needed attention: some dishes were dirty, the microwave had no turntable glass, one room smelled smoky, the kitchen looked like it might have water damage, the dishwasher detergent compartment wouldn’t latch, one sink drain was broken, and the hair dryer didn’t work. I also had to figure out why the TVs were slightly unplugged at the back and fix them. At the right price I might not complain, but I’d choose the 28th st Hampton Inn and pay for parking instead.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed breakfast and the pool room. One downside for Building B is the very active railway across the creek, with noise day and night. The bathtubs also drain poorly, so you end up standing in a puddle. Still, the stay was satisfactory.
