The updates are nice, especially the remodeled bathrooms, and you can see effort has gone into improvements. But I’d put clean bedding first. When I came back late and pulled back the covers, there was actual dirt in the bed and hair, and the pillowcases were dirty. The second bed was just as bad, with a clump of toilet paper in it. They brought replacement sheets when I asked at the window, but those looked dirty too. The towels seemed old and dirty. The furniture was old and covered in cigarette burns, and there was an ashtray in the room. When I walked in, it smelled like marijuana. At check-in, they didn’t greet me at the desk. I had to use the side night window and talk through the little bank-style opening. The owner wasn’t very friendly, and parking their personal car under the carport made it seem like they didn’t care about guests. There’s no carpet, so the Red Carpet name doesn’t apply, though who wants hotel carpet anyway?

At the Red Carpet Inn in South Daytona, Florida, clean towels at check-in turned out to be visibly dirty, and the sheets were dirty and stained when I pulled back the covers. There was blood splatter on the bathroom wall, which was deeply disturbing and unacceptable. Roaches kept crawling around the room throughout my stay, and I also found bed bugs that clearly weren’t a new problem. When I reported the infestation to the office, staff blamed me and accused me of bringing the bed bugs, which was false and incredibly unprofessional. I received no refund and was eventually asked to leave after reporting it. No apology, accountability, or effort to fix the situation. The place was filthy, unsafe, and poorly managed. Between the pests, dirty linens, blood in the bathroom, and hostile response, nobody should stay here. Save yourself the stress, money, and health risk and go elsewhere.

The check-in attendant was pleasant, but the room was in awful shape. The handle and lock on room 117 felt loose enough to come off, and the place smelled strongly of cigarettes. There were burn marks on the bedding and headboard, stains and hairs on the torn mattress cover, and webs, roaches, dirt, and trash beneath the mattress. The shower had hair in it, the chairs were dirty, something white was on the curtains, the toilet shifted because its bolt was loose, and there was a little black mold above the shower. The air conditioning was off when we arrived, leaving the room muggy. We checked for bed bugs and didn't find any, but the mattress cover looked like it hadn't been washed regularly. We came for the Daytona 500, and Red Carpet Inn was the only weekend option we found below $300 a night. We booked two nights, brought our own blankets, and stripped the bed before trying to sleep on the uncomfortable mattress. We left after one night and won't stay at Red Carpet Inn again.

My girl and I had an amazing time, and otherwise the stay was okay. The issue was that the managers wouldn't work with us. They seem to treat people as if everyone's doing something wrong, but people aren't all the same, and those who aren't causing trouble should get a chance. I wouldn't recommend this place if you want to have friends over.

The woman at the front desk was friendly, but room 112 was a classic dirty motel room. There was a cockroach, the sheets were dirty, and it looked like the floor had never been mopped.
