Super 8 by Wyndham Daytona Beach

We were in Daytona Beach for the NASCAR races and stayed four nights. The rooms were decent, and both the front desk service and housekeeping were great. The location was convenient, with lots of coffee shops and restaurants nearby.

Honestly, this is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The lobby had a pungent smell, and my room was much worse. The old mildew mixed with another bad odor made it impossible to sleep. I’d rather sleep in my car than stay here again.

I stayed at the Super 8 for 2 days. On the first night, the white towels looked dingy and had spots, and there were red spots on the white sheets. I took a picture before leaving. When we came back and pulled the covers back, those same red spots were still there. I reported it to the front desk. They said, "we only change sheets every other day." I told them I’d post about it on Google, and the employee said he’d tell his manager. Someone came into the room and made the bed, but didn’t change the sheets. I paid good money and still couldn’t get fresh sheets!

The boys and I used the clean pool, and the place worked well as a base for heading to the beach during the day. We had a nice stay. Our room was clean, and I didn’t notice anything beat up. The owners seem to have tried to freshen things with paint and by keeping the hallways vacuumed. It’s a Super 8, so I wasn’t expecting anything outstanding.
