The Daytona, Autograph Collection

We found plenty of shopping and places to eat within walking distance, including PF Changs, Costco, Wawa, Bass Pro Shops, and 4 rivers BBQ. The Daytona hotel was a delightful stop for our one night in Daytona. Our clean, comfortable room had a large balcony with chairs, plus snacks and drinks for purchase. The lobby displays a variety of retired race cars, which was cool to see. Having different EV chargers was helpful: there are two Tesla Destination chargers and two Chargepoint J772 connectors, though the Tesla charger on the right was broken, so only one of those two worked. I’ll stay here next time I’m back in Daytona beach.

Our balcony king room looked over the One Daytona winners circle, where something was happening each day or night during our stay. I’m not sure whether that’s just a weekend thing. The hotel is kid-friendly and pet-friendly, and we had no issues at all. The room was spacious, and everyone we met was super nice, including Maya at check-in, Malcolm the manager, the shuttle driver, and all the restaurant staff. We’d definitely stay again and recommend it. Kuddos to Marriot!

Fabian really made our visit enjoyable. He’s an amazing bartender, with a warm smile, a great personality, and excellent service. The place itself was clean and welcoming. The young woman working alongside him, though, came across as rude and unwelcoming, and her attitude was unpleasant. We ended up asking her to let Fabian serve us because of how she spoke to us.

The water made showering a frustrating, drawn-out task: it was dangerously hot, but the pressure was very weak. The room at The Autograph also clearly hadn’t been cleaned before I arrived. An oily film covered the bathroom floor, and long black hairs were scattered around, stuck to surfaces and even to my clothes and belongings after only a few hours. I had to put towels down just to walk in the bathroom. I was still finding hairs on my things after checkout, sitting in the car on the way to my destination. For what I paid, I expected basic cleanliness and working amenities. Instead, I left uncomfortable and frustrated. I wouldn’t come back or recommend it; even a budget motel would have felt like better value.
