The comfortable bed is the only reason this gets two stars. We stayed here a few years ago and liked our remodeled room, but this time was disappointing for a $400 two-night weekend. The bathroom fan sounded like a jet and was tied to the light, so it couldn't be switched off. There was blue paint on the bathroom floor, leaves in the room, and two of the three lamps had dead bulbs. The TV was small and the picture wasn't clear. Breakfast was only donuts, with no coffee, juice, or water. The guests upstairs were very loud and had a yelling, screaming fight Saturday night. As we drove away, my husband said not to book here again. We come every January for a weekend away, so this was a letdown.

Breakfast choices were limited, though there are plenty of other places to get a good meal. Our room was well kept. Leon, the bartender, really made the trip memorable. I recommend staying here, and if you do, go find him!

I booked one night, but the room smelled musty and the walls were so thin I could hear people in other rooms. I checked out an hour and a half after checking in because of an emergency with my kids, and they wouldn't refund my money. I work at a hotel and would've refunded it right away. It really sucks, and after this I probably won't stay here again.

Will, Ellie, Erin, Arn, Deboriah, and the whole crew made our stay memorable. This is a great hotel with wonderful people working here. I'd recommend the Resort for a family visit, a solo trip, or business in Deadwood. We've already booked another stay and can't wait to return. Blessings, Stephen Frazer

I liked being just outside Deadwood while still close enough to ride the trolley into town. I'd recommend taking it. The rooms are comfortable, though they aren't luxurious if that's what you're looking for. There is accessible parking.
