Hampton Inn by Hilton Detroit Dearborn

We were there for four nights, and the room service was awful. At check-in late in the evening, the bathroom was only half cleaned, with a dirty shower and sink. We were told rooms are cleaned every other day, so the next day we asked for ours to be done. Two days later, housekeeping made the bed and changed the towels but left the toilet and sink dirty. We had to ask again to get the bathroom cleaned. The location was good, with lots of restaurants close by, and the facilities were decent. But the front desk staff weren’t very friendly, and I wouldn’t stay again. I’d choose a place with better service.

Breakfast was just okay, the basic free hotel spread, with nothing especially good or bad about it. By the end, the room we had was clean and the visit was good, though pretty unremarkable. Staff were attentive and helpful whenever I pointed something out. Getting there was a string of hassles: check-in, a room that wasn’t what we’d reserved, then another room after the toilet stopped working. I’d probably stay again, but it wasn’t a standout visit.

The room faced the main road, and traffic noise carried inside around the clock. Housekeeping never showed up despite several requests, so during our three-night stay we had to keep asking the desk attendant for washcloths. When we asked why housekeeping hadn’t come, the attendant said the privacy and housekeeping request buttons lit the same door light. That wasn’t true: housekeeping is green and privacy is red. Check-in itself was smooth with the online digital key, and parking was easy. But the room’s cleanliness was questionable, with visible mildew or mold in the AC grates and a smashed bug on the ceiling. The bed was comfortable enough, though the pillows were lumpy and hard to get comfortable on. Hallway carpet was bunched up and coming loose, too. I’ve stayed at a lot of Hampton Inns, and this one ranks pretty low for me. With the high price and these problems, I don’t think we’ll stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay at Hampton Inn -Dearborn Detroit. The hotel was clean and up to date, parking was easy, and the price was very affordable. My husband and I struggled to come up with anything critical after all the positive things we could say. The bed, though, wasn’t much to write home about. When we lay down, we said together, “I Er the bed sucks”. I’m in hotels about 45-50 nights a year, and in recent years I’ve noticed less hospitality at budget friendly places. That wasn’t our experience here. Every staff member went above and beyond to make us comfortable. I spoke with the desk team, day and night, and the housekeeping manager and staff. They were all really beautiful people.
