Comfort Inn & Suites Sidney I-80

We had a great one-night stop in Sydney on a road trip. The room was on the small side but very clean, with a comfortable bed and a nice step-in shower with a flat floor. It had the usual things, including a refrigerator, microwave, and flat-screen TV with all the channels. There was plenty of parking for my full-size truck, and room for the truck and U-Haul around back.

After a full day on the road, this was a nice place to rest. We got a very clean room with two really comfortable, soft beds, and a night off the road. My wife wasn't feeling well, and the front desk guy went above and beyond to get her the help she needed. We're grateful for the call he made to help her, and for the excellent staff.

The room was clean, spacious, well stocked, and had good Wi-Fi. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they accommodated our dog. It's easy to reach from the highway and close to other amenities. I couldn't see a way to stop water from pooling on the floor outside the walk-in shower. I've also gotten used to snack bars in hotels while traveling, and missed having one here. That wasn't a major issue.

I've usually stayed here when passing through on I80, since it feels like a newer hotel and has always been clean. Breakfast was better than average, and the rooms were clean, but this was probably the least satisfying stay of my 4,000-mile trip. There seem to be too many hotels in Sidney for the number of guests, so they're all struggling to make a profit. The room noise was the biggest problem. The building seemed to have little or no insulation between rooms or from the truck stop a few hundred yards away. With no more than 20 cars in a lot serving over 80 rooms, they still put guests in rooms right beside one another, and I had people on both sides and across the hall. I could hear one TV all night and another guest talking to his wife on the phone as if he were in my room. Spacing guests out with a buffer room could've helped. The AC was also much too loud when it kicked on and sounded like it needed maintenance. The front desk staff member wasn't rude or bad, but didn't feel welcoming. I don't like having to call a number to get someone to come out from a back room and speak with me. It was an okay stay, but on the return trip through Sidney I chose a different hotel.
