Woodspring Suites Dearborn - Detroit

I wish I’d found this place sooner. I got here a couple weeks ago and fell in love with it. It costs less than where I stayed before, and the suites are lovely, clean, and roomy. There’s a full-size fridge, stovetop, and large microwave. The staff are so nice and helpful. I love it here!

We booked a room so my husband and I wouldn’t have to drive after his company holiday party at The Henry. The room had a kitchenette, but there was no coffee pot, only one towel and one pillow, and no toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, hangers, ironing board, or blow dryer. The TV didn’t work, there was no Wi-Fi or breakfast, and I found a dirty steak knife on top of the microwave. I asked for two more towels and pillows, but after two hours they still hadn’t arrived, so I went downstairs as we were getting ready for the event. The young woman at the counter was smiling and happy, but check-in was through a kiosk and took 15 minutes. It felt very impersonal, and we were given only one key. There were police in the lobby, and someone on my floor was being arrested for apparently stealing other guests’ belongings. It seems they let people live there too. They didn’t have a king room available, so I settled for a queen, which was disappointing since my husband is 6'3. This hotel was so unaccommodating. Just a shitty place all together. So disappointed.

There was no staffed front desk, just a live agent kiosk where several guests were waiting for help. Our room had no towels, soap, or basic amenities. When we asked for towels, we got just one small one. Later, our keys stopped working in 30-degree weather, and we and other guests were locked out of the building. Guests were being told to make their own beds, and there wasn’t any on-site staff to sort out problems. My stay at WoodSpring Suites Dearborn was completely unacceptable. This fails to provide basic hotel services and raises serious safety and operational concerns. Corporate management needs to address what’s happening at this property immediately. It didn’t meet even the most basic standards of hospitality.

Chelsea and Jamie made me feel welcome and looked after as soon as I walked in. Check-in was quick and easy, and everyone I met was friendly and attentive. My room was spotless, comfortable, and well maintained. I had an amazing stay, exactly what you hope for when traveling.
