The Inn at Death Valley – Inside the Park

The Casita was very spacious, with a private bedroom and nice private areas, and the resort supplied us with a golf cart to get around. We stayed two nights at the Inn. Most things at the resort are cashless, and we didn’t care for the cloth furniture because it can’t be cleaned. The bedroom TV never worked during our stay, despite us calling many times to have it fixed. Nobody showed up the first day. On the second, an old, grumpy man finally came at night, didn’t fix it, and left without a word. All the hotel did was apologize.

The location is what makes this a great base for visiting the park. Two nights let you catch two sunrises and sunsets, and you can see both the north and south of the valley in a comfortable day. The staff and dining room staff were friendly and made our two-night stay pleasant. It’s a bit pricey, but the location outweighs that for me. Well worth the extra money.

The stone building and interior are superb, and the art deco look in our room was gorgeous. We had a large, very comfortable bed. In such a surreal landscape, the hotel feels spectacular. The staff were helpful, and dinner in the dining room made for a special night out, with delicious food and wine. It’s a little pricey, but worth treating yourself. The pool area is charming, with cabanas and sun lounges, and there’s a small Cafe.

The rooms were comfortable, well appointed, and had fabulous views. The location is central, so getting to most sights was easy. Service at the front desk, lounge, and dining room was excellent, and we especially appreciated how kind and friendly the waitstaff were.
