The area around the hotel made me uneasy, especially in the evening, so I wouldn’t suggest it for families with children. The hotel itself was clean and quiet, and the staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. It was a good hotel, but the location concerned me.

The noise was unbearable. I could hear the TV and every word from the room next door, and the adjoining-room door let light through when our lights were on opposite ways. Housekeeping yelled nonstop while cleaning next door, and I had to ask them to quiet down. At 8am, a woman outside my door was screaming that housekeeping had stolen all her things. I could hear the whole exchange, and the staff sounded pretty unhelpful. The front desk was slow and bad too. I really can’t think of anything good to say. If you have another option, take it. This is the worst place I’ve stayed in a long time, just abysmal and sad. My own room was dirty and looked awful, with stains all over the walls, floor, and every surface. There were cigarette burns in the wall, and one of the three outlets didn’t work. The door lock was broken. The bed was tiny, a full rather than the advertised queen, and rock hard with cheap springs. There were only enough towels for one person to shower once, and opened shower caps were left sitting in the shower. The only trash can was in the bathroom.

The front desk staff were nice and helpful, and the location is lively. Still, maybe look for another place in the same area. The quality didn’t match the price, and there are plenty of NYC options at similar rates. We only stayed because there were no refunds. Otherwise, we were ready to pack up and go elsewhere. Read the reviews before booking, and don’t trust booking.com. From January 10th to the 12th, 2026, my friend and I first got a room with stains everywhere, including the walls, floors, beds, and bathroom. They looked like dried bodily fluids and makeup. The bedding seemed to have been rearranged instead of changed after the previous guests. The replacement room was a little better, but there were hairs across my friend’s bed and a wad of hair in the bathroom. The walls are thin, so you hear everything on your floor. The building smells of tobacco and marijuana, which I could tolerate, but others might not. The only guest microwave is in the lobby, and it clearly doesn’t get cleaned often.

For under $200 a night, it’s a really good deal, though rates change by date and spike around holidays or big nearby events. Check-in was quick and easy, but staff aren’t always at the desk, which could explain delays others mention. The room was the size you need for a short City stay. Cleaning could be more detailed, so don’t expect it to be top-tier spotless, though it could be worse. We brought a plug-in air freshener since NY hotel rooms commonly smell of smoke, and that was an amazing idea. Our room had a small balcony and curtains that blocked the light really well. The MTA Subway, the 1 Train, is maybe two blocks away, with plenty of little restaurants and shops nearby. The elevator’s stained-glass decoration was a nice touch. I’d stay again. Not top tier, but really good for the price.

The hotel refused to refund a reservation for unused services, even though we contacted them two weeks ahead, which should have left plenty of time under any cancellation policy. My 19-year-old daughter and her friend had booked the room, then we, as responsible parents, stepped in and helped them reserve a reputable hotel so they could travel safely. They’re 19 and 20, just trying to experience the world. I find it disgusting for Corporate America to take advantage of them. Any reputable business would have refunded the money in good faith. Given the reviews, the place sounds absolutely disgusting. I’d urge everyone to stay far away. There’s no integrity here. They’re thieves of the worst kind, stealing from children.
