Hyatt Place Flushing/LaGuardia Airport

I found the hotel beautiful, with a warm, relaxing feel, and my room was spotless and tidy. The area has plenty of great places to explore, and although I didn’t need the shuttle, having that option seems really convenient for travelers. Carisa at the front desk was especially helpful, efficient, and sweet at both check-in and check-out. She made everything easy, and the whole staff was amazing. I didn’t feel like I was missing anything during my stay at the Hyatt place Flushing. Thank you to the team!

Jefferson at the front desk made a real impression. He was consistently friendly, seemed to remember our name, and was often there whenever we came through, morning or night. His professionalism and manner rival those of staff at any big fancy hotel. We chose the Flushing Hyatt for its hourly airport shuttle, and that worked well for us. The hotel is a few blocks from the subway from midtown Manhattan and within walking distance of dozens of restaurants, shopping, and just about anything you might want. The breakfast buffet was high quality, well maintained, and had plenty of seating. The rooms were standard Hyatt rooms, with enough space for our family of five. A great end to our NYC stay.

The location is convenient and the staff service was generally acceptable, but I can’t recommend this hotel because of a serious safety concern I experienced in the lobby. At 11:30 PM on May 29, 2026, I saw unauthorized people in the lobby aggressively targeting guests. They verbally harassed, insulted, and intimidated people, in a way that felt like an effort to hustle or provoke them. Guests should be able to feel secure in a shared area, and it’s concerning that this was allowed to happen. The hotel’s security measures didn’t prevent them from entering or harassing patrons. I felt unsafe during my stay. Until management takes strict steps to secure the lobby and protect guests, I’d strongly advise staying elsewhere.

For food and an airport layover, the location is hard to beat. LGA is under 10 minutes away, Tangram Mall is across the street, and you’re surrounded by great Chinese, Korean, and Japanese food. The neighborhood feels safe and lively at night, with some nearby restaurants open until 4:00 am. Streets can be busy and a bit gritty, but it feels much safer than many other parts of the city. Breakfast has a nice local touch, with congee, kimchi, and other Asian-style dishes alongside the usual eggs, unlike standard Hyatt Places. Just watch the cash rates, which can get surprisingly high on weekends even when there’s no holiday. If the Hyatt app price looks wild, Category 1-4 Free Night Award or points can be good value. The room tech feels very dated for 2026, with no Chromecast or streaming options. The heating was frustrating too: even set to 80°F, the room wouldn’t get above 72°F and felt chilly in winter. A good food and layover option, but don’t expect a modern room.
