Lone Star Inn

We’d stayed here a couple of years ago and it was fine then, but this visit was very different. There were live roaches in our room. I took photos and a video, then went to the front desk to check out. The clerk kept offering another room and saying we’d be fine, but I said no, there were roaches, period. We booked through a third party, so the hotel couldn’t refund the charge. I’ll have to contact the booking site to sort that out. We were also asked illegal questions about our Service Animal. I do not recommend this place.

My husband and I booked a room a little over a year ago, and it’s still a nightmare memory. There were bugs in the room, stains across the ceilings, and the hotel seemed badly maintained. It didn’t feel clean enough to stay, so we had to find another hotel that night. We weren’t given a refund. Terrible experience, definitely don’t recommend.

At check-in, they asked me for an ID for my service animal. A true service animal doesn’t have an ID, and federal and state laws don’t allow hotels to demand one when the law doesn’t require it. No agency certifies service animals and issues them IDs. I took my business somewhere that knows the law and didn’t treat me like a second-class person because of the disability that requires my service animal. I’ll be reporting this hotel for non-compliance.

The hotel was easy to find, and my room was very neat. The service was excellent and professional. I’ll stay here again the next time I’m in town.
