Woodspring Suites Deerfield Beach

We only stayed because we were looking for a house and needed to save money. Otherwise, we'd have left right away. The hotel didn't feel safe or comfortable, with people sleeping in cars outside and a constant marijuana smell in the area. Inside, the room was dirty, the sheets stained, the bathroom moldy and damaged, and there was an unpleasant odor. It's poorly maintained and unhygienic. They don't offer breakfast, and they charge extra to change towels. The woman at the front desk was rude, unfriendly, and seemed in a bad mood whenever I asked for towels. There was no hospitality. I hope I never have to pass this hotel again. Avoid it.

The staff and the place feel welcoming, clean, and friendly, and they really do go out of their way. Ask for something in the room to be fixed or even for batteries for a milk frother, and they'll help. Whether you're there short-term or long-term, it can feel like home. The staff have been around a while, so there aren't the usual problems from inexperienced people caused by high turnover. It's a safe, clean, affordable place to stay. The only thing missing from a home away from home is an oven, but you make do.

There's a nice laundry room, with a gas station and restaurant nearby. You'll have to drive or Uber to the beach. The hotel staff and housekeeping do a good job, and the room has a full-size fridge, microwave, and stovetop.

I've been surprised that the friendly, respectful treatment wasn't just for my first day. The front desk staff and manager, along with housekeeping and maintenance, keep greeting me and helping whenever I ask a question. I hope they carry on like this, because it makes me want to stay longer.
