Ocean Villas of Deerfield

We had a clean, mostly quiet studio and enjoyed having a kitchen, though we didn't cook. The recliner was comfortable, and there was lots of closet and dresser space, but oddly no hangers. The setup included two double beds for four people, a recliner chair, wall-mounted TV that we didn't use, full kitchen with pots, pans, spoons, plates, and bowls, and a half bathroom with toilet, sink, a highlighted mirror, and two lights to brighten the room. There was a window for natural light and a shower with two shower heads. Two things could have been better. Within ten minutes of arriving, all the lights went out and then came back on. It happened only once, and there was no storm or rain, but it was strange. We were there over Christmas and had only two rolls of toilet paper for several people. One person had stomach pains, and the first roll was used up, then the second was nearly gone the next day. The front desk and housekeeping were off for Christmas, so a third roll would have helped. Still, I'd give the stay four stars. We didn't eat at Deerfield restaurants except the lovely beach restaurant. It's a great spot to walk across the street to the beach, grab food from one of the resort hotel restaurants, and eat by the water. We ordered 12 wings in three sauces, fries, and Cokes to get through the afternoon before dinner in Boca. Be aware there's a lot of residential area around, and some residents may give you a side glance if you're of a blessed and wonderful hue. I still enjoyed walking the neighborhood trail by the main road. Stay alert to cars, motorists, cyclists, and people walking or running. This is a beautiful property, and I'll be back soon.

I left Debbie a message to make a reservation and had to call again when she didn't return it. When she eventually called back, things went downhill fast after I asked what room options were available. She got cocky and sarcastic, talked down to me, and showed zero customer service skill. Don't waste your time with her.

The bathroom had ants, and somehow there were ants in the bed too. They bit me and my daughter while we were sleeping. The woman was angry about a small food stain on her sheets, even though it could clearly be washed out. Then she told me I couldn't return, though we'd never had a problem before. Her attitude was rude and nasty despite me speaking politely.

Debbie was so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, and the location was great, with restaurants a short walk up the road. Excellent place to stay, and I'd definitely recommend it.
