Chicago Marriott Suites Deerfield

The hide-a-bed had a sheet with blood stains on it. Disgusting. Our refrigerator was warm and unusable, so we kept our food in our yeti instead of taking a chance on it. There was no air conditioning in our room, and they couldn’t fix it or move us to another room. The front desk and guest services offered no apology and basically acted like there was nothing they could do. The service tech who looked at the AC couldn’t repair it, but was very sympathetic and found us a small fan. Stay somewhere else. There are tons of options in the area.

George, the hotel’s complimentary driver, was the highlight of our awesome stay. Somehow, his restaurant recommendations were better than we had any right to expect. Don’t forget to track him down when you stay.

We’ve been coming every three months, and there’s always some problem. This trip settled it: we won’t stay here again. The only good parts were the woman at checkout and the breakfast area staff. There was construction, but the website didn’t mention it when I booked, and nobody told us at check-in. It should be disclosed online and at the front desk. The young man checking us in was rude, sarcastic, and unprofessional. There was no air in the rooms, and several people in my party were moved, but the new rooms had the same issue. A maintenance guy told us to open a window. Are you kidding? It had no screen and was filthy around the seal. This hotel is a disaster. Get it fixed before you lose more customers. We use three to four rooms each time we come.

The Chicago Marriott Suites Deerfield is easy to get to, and inside it felt elegant and peaceful. It also seemed like a great place to hold an event, with a sophisticated atmosphere and staff who kept things running smoothly. I visited recently and would recommend it for a business stay or a special gathering.
