Hilton San Diego/Del Mar

The staff were phenomenal, really friendly and accommodating, and the resort itself is beautiful and peaceful. Del Mar feels magical. I stayed a couple of days with my husband and baby girl, but we had to leave a bit early because the room felt too small for us. We need separate spaces. I’d recommend it for a relaxing few days or a couples’ getaway.

The courtyard pool and hot tub are lovely, tucked into the center of the property, and the patio fire pits have comfy chairs and couches. The bloody Mary bar was excellent, and so was the breakfast buffet, though it costs extra. Our room was nice, but the fridge was too small and there wasn’t a microwave. We asked for one and it arrived promptly, though I think it should come with the room at this price. I’d stay again. Parking was another $35 a night, which felt like a money grab on top of the $380 nightly rate.

The team made us feel well looked after throughout our stay, from arrival through departure. My partner and I were very pleased with both the service and the room. The property seems very well managed, and we’d like to compliment General Manager Tim and the whole staff for the great hospitality.

I’m reviewing the business meeting experience. There may have been at least 200 people at the event. The food was delicious and satisfying, and I’m a big fan of mashed potatoes and gravy. The lighting and sound system were good too. When we arrived, it would have helped to have arrows showing where to go. The desk was crowded with people checking into rooms, so it took too long to ask someone for directions. Once the event was underway, the servers were right on top of things, bringing food and water and clearing plates quickly. At other events, plates can sit around for ages. I enjoyed the event at the Hilton!
