Hotel Indigo San Diego Del Mar by IHG

Breakfast was a highlight each day, fresh and nicely presented, with excellent service. We also loved ending the evening with champagne on the balcony as the Pacific sunset turned pink and gold. It became our nightly ritual, and those memories alone made the trip worthwhile. From our early arrival, Barbara welcomed us with a genuine smile and had the room ready. Every interaction felt personal. Barbara, David, and everyone we met were warm, friendly, and happy to share local tips or a kind word. The rooms were stylish, comfortable, and spotless, mixing a coastal look with a cozy feel. Waking up to see and hear the Pacific was pure bliss.

The ocean views are gorgeous, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and have big windows. No carpet in the room was a plus for us. We liked the location, with an easy walk to restaurants, coffee shops, a pretty neighborhood, and the beach park. It’s very dog-friendly. We’ll be back soon and recommend it to friends. We stayed three nights this week at Hotel Indigo in Del Mar. Barbara Durand at the front desk was awesome, with a lovely personality, and she was helpful, professional, and pleasant. Our handheld shower was broken and the room lighting was very dim. After we asked Barbara for help, she had someone come within 30 minutes. He was efficient and polite, fixed it in 15 minutes, and brought a floor lamp. The lobby is bright and welcoming, with lots of comfortable outdoor seating on the second-floor patios and by the pool. We recommend booking a second-floor room. The nightly parking charge was a downside, and our pillows were lumpy and need replacing.

Santana made the night for me. He was warm and upbeat without overdoing it, and the drinks were carefully made, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The classics and the more creative options were all great. He remembered what people liked, gave thoughtful recommendations, and kept things moving at the bar even when it got busy. Santana clearly cares about his craft and brings real skill and professionalism. He turned a good night into a great one.

My family booked two rooms for one night and were really pleased with the hotel’s location and condition. My room had an ocean view, and the air felt fresh. Everything was clean and neat. The front desk staff were kind and helpful in showing us around. We hope to stay again soon.
