The clean sheets and comfortable beds were a plus, and the Wi-Fi worked well. The rooms were okay, though pretty bare-bones, and the loud AC and heater were annoying. There was no bathroom fan, either. Breakfast had some good yogurt and oatmeal, and the decorations were nice, but the hot items were poorly cooked. At more than $120 a night in January, with the outdoor pool closed and a resort fee still charged, it felt too expensive for what you get. Most Holiday Inns are much better.

The breakfast area attendant was really kind and clearly worked hard to make things pleasant. Our room was modern and clean, and the heater fan didn't have any of the odors I've noticed at other hotels.

I was only in the room for about five seconds before realizing it didn't have a bathtub, so I asked to switch. I had checked in at 12 825, then gone into town for an hour right after checking in. Stella, the manager on duty, said she couldn't change my room because of the timestamp. I had specifically asked for a very easy fix, and this could have been handled very differently. Not a great experience.

Everyone working here was friendly and welcoming, and check-in went great. The gym has plenty of room, though it's missing a bench and many of the weight sizes. I have nothing negative to say about anything else.

This was our second stay while breaking up a trip to the OBX, and we'd definitely come back. We got a first-floor room at the front of the building, and it stayed pretty quiet despite being somewhat close to route 13. The room was very clean, which is the most important thing to me in a motel or hotel. The front desk and breakfast prep staff were personable, pleasant, and accommodating. The bed and mattress seemed reasonably new and were in decent shape.
