Aloft by Marriott Delray Beach

The room was great, the hotel was spotless, and the atmosphere was lovely. Zachary at the front desk really stood out: his welcome and customer service were top tier, and you can tell he loves his job. The whole staff was kind and attentive too. We’ll definitely be back!

We’ve been coming to the aloft for 10 years, and it’s our go-to when we’re in the Delray Beach area. For this class of hotel and the price, I’d give it five stars. Allison at the front desk always remembers us and is warm and accommodating throughout our stays. Dustin is friendly and accommodating too, just superb. My only complaint is about a woman who seems to be a new front desk manager. I can’t recall her name, but she barely looks up to say hello. When I ask questions, she acts as if I’m bothering her, which feels off-putting and surprising. It’s happened several times, so it wasn’t just one bad day.

The lobby is a great place to hang out, with a bar, pool table, and small market that has a good selection. There’s also an awesome rooftop pool, up on the second or third floor. The hotel is super clean, in a great area, and offers good value at a fair price. I’ve stayed at the Aloft Delray several times, and each visit has been better. The staff are personable, and a few remembered me as soon as I walked in. You can park and walk straight to Atlantic Avenue. I’ve also taken an Uber here and spent a long weekend without a car because of the location. The city’s free ride service, Freebee, can take you to the beach or anywhere downtown. I highly recommend it for a downtown weekend or a beach visit.

I needed a workstation, but most rooms don’t have a table and chair or anything similar, according to the person who checked me in. The Marriott app says the rooms include an ergonomic chair, which wasn’t true. If you need a desk, I’d stay at the courtyard marriott next door. I arrived too late for the manager to be on site, so I had to stay the night and couldn’t get a refund. I would’ve checked out, gotten my money back, and gone to the courtyard Marriott, but the person at the desk couldn’t approve it. Instead, I got $50 off my rate, about a 25% discount. The hotel tried to provide good service and address my concerns, but it’s still completely unacceptable to advertise a desk and ergonomic chairs when there aren’t any.
