The Seagate Hotel, Golf & Beach Club, Autograph Collection

Getting an itemized bill took nine calls over four days after checkout. Before that, the manager had acknowledged that my room went uncleaned for all three nights and offered a 20% discount. I understood it to be off our stay, but it was applied to the room price before taxes and fees, about $200. When I said that didn’t feel like enough, I was told there was nothing more they could do. I’d asked for housekeeping four times, by phone and at the front desk, and each time someone said they’d come. No one did. Trash accumulated, towels weren’t changed, and the room wasn’t refreshed. On the last call, we were even told to change the sheets ourselves. The lack of follow-through and accountability was the most disappointing part. For an upscale place with premium rates, basic cleaning and accurate billing shouldn’t be optional. I wouldn’t return or recommend it to anyone who cares about consistent service.

The rooms are really comfortable, and the staff are super friendly. The hotel shuttle gets you to the private beach and restaurant club in about five minutes, and it’ll also take you anywhere within three miles, which covers pretty much all of downtown Delray. The water is an easy walk from the hotel too.

The shuttle made it easy to get to the beach or a restaurant, and I loved having bottled water in the room each day. The rooms were great, and so many staff members made the stay special: Juan at the beach club, thanks for the olives, Josefa by the pool, Sophie and Dan bringing drinks around the beach, Lukas setting things up there, Joseph at the Venetian bar, and Austin at the lobby side desk. We’re home from Delray now, but I can’t wait to come back. If you want to be within walking distance of the beach and great restaurants, stay at the Seagate!

The beach club and Bourbon Steakhouse were highlights, with Bourbon Steakhouse being a must visit. We’ve looked at hotels all around Delray, and this has easily become my spouse’s and my favorite. Johnathan greeted us when we arrived and went out of his way to make our babymoon before the baby’s birth memorable. He took our wish for a quiet room into account and made the stay comfortable and thoughtful. We’re grateful for how welcoming, attentive, and clean everything was. Thanks to Johnathan and the staff. Seagate will be our go-to for future stays!
