Budget Inn

I paid for a room and ended up having to sleep in my car. When I tried to lie down, cockroaches and bugs were crawling around my body. Worst experience ever.

When I first moved in, I told them I had three small dogs, and two were service dogs. After two weeks, they said one wasn't a service dog because she barked. I have seizures, and she was barking because I was having one in my sleep. I was trying to wake my husband. She only barked when that happened, but they insisted service dogs don't bark. Housekeeping also knocked like they were the police, then someone made a rude comment about me paying a man on the street corner to get my ID. I showed the service papers, but they still said she wasn't a service dog and wanted to charge me $20 a day for her. They also said everyone there had complained about my dogs barking, but when I asked people, no one had said that. After I left, I heard the barking was still going on. Turns out there were 12 puppies in the house beside the hotel. On top of all that, the office came running over when my husband, our kid, and I were talking with the lady next door outside. They said it looked like a drug deal and told us to go to our room. My husband smokes cigarettes, but we don't smoke in a room with kids, and my kid had just got home from school. I don't recommend this place at all.

It's quiet here, and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Kimberly and Tiffany deserve a special shout out. The rooms were great and the beds really comfortable. Don't pass this place by!

I made my reservation online on November 22nd, and the Budget Inn's description and photos were deceptive. They suggested a property very different from what I found when I arrived. I would've left much sooner, but I'd been dropped off and my ride wasn't coming back until the next day. There was no daily housekeeping, no towels, no vacuuming, and no trash pickup. The ceiling paint was peeling and cracked, and the furniture was dilapidated with paint coming off. The telephone didn't work, so I couldn't call the office or make outgoing calls. The ice machine was broken, there were no vending machines, and the closet had no hangers. The broken toilet seat felt unsafe and could cause a fall. There was a sickening odor throughout the room, with mildew in the bathroom tile cracks and grout, and around the toilet base and bathtub. The towels looked questionably clean and had a grayish tinge. The front office was shut off from the public and almost impossible to access. The only way to get someone was to press a broken button taped to the wall, sometimes repeatedly. When a staff person appeared, they were rude and spoke poor English. The room was so unkempt that I slept on top of the covers, afraid the mattress and bedding might have bugs. Getting downtown was also difficult. Broken sidewalks and a large by duck with heavy traffic had to be crossed to reach the main street, even though I was told when booking that it was pedestrian friendly.
