Palace Inn

I learned the hard way to ask to see a motel room before paying. I paid $68 for one night in Oct. '23, and I don't stay in motels much. The place was filthy and stank. There was no washcloth; the covers had stains and what looked like cigarette holes and other random holes, and the faucet had more pressure than the shower. After I lifted the toilet lid, I found two small fecal remnants on opposite sides of the seat. I wet a few sheets of toilet paper and scrubbed them off myself. Don't they need some kind of inspection to keep operating? Avoid this excuse for a motel.

I was driving from Denver to Toronto and stayed one night, arriving around 9pm. I picked up food down the street from the Burger King, slept, then got up and left. The room was small and dusty, heated by a space heater, and the curtains didn't block as much light as I wanted. It's in an industrial part of town, so there wasn't street noise, but there also weren't many nearby amenities. There was just one other car in the lot when I got there; by morning, the place was mostly full, so I guess other people have the same idea when booking here. Road construction was underway when I visited, and it made the turnoff a little hard to spot. Fine for a short stay.

This place is worse than the pits. First came the basic filth. Even after they supposedly had the carpets professionally cleaned, I had to bring a vacuum and carpet cleaner from home. Then roaches showed up, and they wouldn't do anything about them, so I bought bombs and bait myself. After that, there were bed bugs. They said they couldn't send an exterminator for two days and wouldn't move a person to another room because they didn't want the bugs spreading. Where do they think they came from? Holy sheesh. I'm going to take more steps, but please save yourself and DO NOT COME TO THE PLEGUE! I mean The Palace Inn.

I just left the doctor after getting home from a three day stay at this run-down motel. They confirmed I have bed bug bites all over my body, and said the fresh bites had appeared in the last couple of days. When I confronted the hotel, they called me a liar. My girlfriend left a review about our experience, but now it's mysteriously deleted. I wonder why. Do not stay at this hotel.
