Miracle Springs Resort & Spa

We spent the day at the pools and spa, so I can’t speak to the rooms. The decor is the rough part: very kitschy 1980s, and it makes the place feel dated and less clean. I don’t really have anything else bad to say. The good parts were the friendly receptionists in both the lobby and spa, who helped us sort out a few logistical issues. Hiram gave a great massage and seemed to find every knot. Lunch at the restaurant was okay, but the service was FIVE ⭐️ STAR. Maddie was our server, and her professional, outstanding customer care is reason enough to come back. She could teach a class on it. It’s a fun day trip.

Hungry? Capri restaurant inside the spa has a big selection of American and Italian food. I had the ribeye, which was juicy and cooked just as I ordered it. There’s lots of room to spread out among the natural spas, plus ample parking. The location is handy for Coachella Valley, Joshua Tree, Palm Springs, and the outlet malls. Staff were pleasant, welcoming, easy to deal with, and courteous.

We paid for two days, but left after the first because the hotel and customer service were so awful. Check-in took three tries, and we finally got into our room at 3 pm. The bathroom ceiling was leaking. I told the front desk three times before maintenance came at 6 pm. He acknowledged the leak, left a towel for the floor, and said he’d return the next day to fix it. The ceiling dripped all night. The bathroom door wouldn’t close fully, the hot water was lukewarm at best, the closet mirror was cracked, and the bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. There was more wrong besides that. This feels like an outdated 1970s hotel in need of updates, and the front desk staff weren’t helpful. Worst hotel experience I’ve had in 40 years. I’d never stay here again.

Nick gave me an amazing deep tissue massage. I’d been skeptical after reading the reviews, but I honestly had a wonderful time. The place is dated, though that was fine, and there was live music by the pool on a Thursday. It was a vibe.
