Club Destin Condos

A good base for exploring the area without much hassle, thanks to its central location and decent walkability. It seems especially suited to families with young kids, who looked like they were enjoying the kid-friendly amenities.

There's plenty for families to do at Club Destin, and the room setup could work well for a longer stay. It felt more like a condo, with a stove, dishwasher, and large sink. The amenities include indoor and outdoor pools, a hot tub, ping pong, a small arcade, one mini golf hole, and a movie center. There's a dining area but no restaurant. The TV was about 32 inches with around 40 Cox channels. Some basic details need attention. There weren't enough outlets, so a few lamps and even the clock weren't plugged in, and figuring out the light switches was confusing. The window looked like it used to open but had been nailed shut. Our first room had stains on the bed, but staff quickly moved us to a clean one. In that room, the remote had dead batteries and we had to ask for replacements. There were no basic toiletries, not even bar soap, shampoo, or body wash. The property map was confusing and didn't say which floor things were on.

It was my first time in Florida. The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean, and before we left we enjoyed the pool, games, and clean sitting area. But after settling into the condo, I ran into problems with bugs on the outskirts of the property. They moved us to another room, but it was smaller than what we paid for. The receptionist hadn't explained the difference between a studio condo and a one-bedroom apartment. The price wasn't the issue, we'd get paid either way. We just wanted a problem-free resort stay. I'd come back if they had condos farther inside.

For our first short trip here, we got a studio-style room with two comfortable queen beds, two full bathrooms with two sinks, a kitchen area, and a small living space with a TV. There was another TV by the beds. We were on the first floor because there was no elevator. The back door opened into the indoor pool and jacuzzi area, and that pool was a good size. The outdoor pool was tiny and looked like it could use a little sprucing up. There weren't enough plugs, and the lamp cords kept slipping out of their loose plugs. Some wall sockets were loose too. Curtains would help since the outdoor lights shine through the blinds while you're trying to sleep. Still, it was a good-value place near everything in Destin.
