Comfort Inn & Suites Destin near Henderson Beach

I stay here often for work, and it's always been a good place. The facilities are clean and comfortable, the staff are helpful and friendly, and the location is perfect. Breakfast is very good too, with a pretty good selection for a complementary breakfast.

We had a terrible stay, and I'm still baffled by how it was handled. There were cleaning products in our room when we arrived, but I just took them downstairs. Then we found we'd been charged twice. They said they'd cancelled one charge and that it should drop off in 3-5 days, but we're home now and it still hasn't come back. The toilet wasn't working, so we told the front desk and got a plunger. It still didn't work properly after we plunged it. We reported it again when we returned from an outing the next day, and someone came around 7pm. They kept our door propped open until almost 10pm. With children who needed to shower, I went down for an update. The OWNER’S first word was “checkout,” and he said no other room was available. He also said “the shower is working fine,” as if the people working on the toilet hadn't been in and out using the tub. He was rude and dry, even though we were the ones being inconvenienced. I said we weren't checking out, especially since we'd already been charged twice, and told him his customer service needed work. I confirmed he was the OWNER. Eventually, somehow, a room became available and we were moved. His family was living in the hotel and came to our room looking for him too. The front desk was often left unattended. They need more front desk staff and actual cleaners instead of family members so rooms get a thorough cleaning. Several lights didn't work in either room we had, and both rooms were small.

I still haven't received my deposit back, and I believe someone's taking the money. Don't book here. After I posted that, the hotel replied that I hadn't contacted them about the deposit. I contacted them several times and still didn't get it back. Other people say they didn't get their deposits either. Check the other reviews, if they haven't deleted them.

The room was small, and the water pressure was slow, with the water coming out at a trickle. The hallway smelled like a bag of onions. It was clean and the was good.
