Getaways at Destin Holiday Beach Resort

The location is great, and our room was nice and clean. My only issue is the layout of the three-bedroom units. They feel more like two and a half bedrooms because the front room is tiny. It works for small kids to sleep in, but there’s barely room to move once luggage is in there.

We arrived on 1/3/26. The property and TV are old, which we could live with, but then we were told all the furniture in the unit would be replaced. We had to be available from 8 to 5, Monday through Saturday, with no timing or schedule provided. The front desk was helpful but had no details. We’re on vacation, so sitting in the room waiting for workers isn’t a good option. Packing our things every morning in case they come while we’re out isn’t either, and I’m not comfortable with people entering our room. We weren’t told about this ahead of time. We booked through Interval, so I expected standards to be in place. Be wary of this property. There aren’t many people staying here, and this could have been handled differently. We found a better place for less money. Shop around, this would be my last choice.

The room was clean and simple, and the location was great, but our “obstructed view” meant a six-foot fence right outside the unit. The room stayed dark, and the fence seemed to collect all sorts of garbage from the resort next door. If I’d known what that view meant, I wouldn’t have chosen this unit.

The place was clean and not too grungy, and I did like staying there. But the room was listed for six people and came with only four pillows. When I asked for extras, the front desk said there weren’t any more and they wouldn’t get more for three days. We also found there was no bedding for the pullout couch, and the staff didn’t know where it was kept. I gave the kids my blanket and made do with the pillow and blanket I’d brought along. Great place otherwise, but bring your own bedding since it wasn’t provided.
