The room had a good courthouse view and plenty of amenities, including a washer, dryer, dishwasher, sink, and fridge. The hotel was quiet, and virtual check-in was easy. The front desk attendant seemed a little bothered when I asked about parking, though. Directions for the recommended third-party lot were confusing: the attendant and the person texting me both said to use a kiosk, but the ramp security guard said there were no kiosks and that I had to use the QR code. The instructions need clarifying. The location is convenient in downtown Detroit, and the price would bring me back despite some rough edges. The floor needed a good cleaning and the bathroom vanity was in poor shape. The hotel shares its entrance frontage with a 7-Eleven, handy for a quick snack, but sketchy people often hang out outside, and the sidewalks were covered with trash and food.

The one-bedroom was spacious and clean, with a great location and an easy check-in. Everything went smoothly. It was very cold outside, though, and the bed only had a sheet and thin blanket. Extra blankets would help, and a throw and pillows for the couch would make it more comfortable.

We found exactly what we wanted at Kasa: a great price and a room we were really happy with. Check-in and checkout were especially simple, even though we arrived late. The room was cute and had its own character instead of feeling like a generic hotel room. I’ll definitely consider Kasa next time.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this place. The room was spacious and clean, with a full kitchen, a full-size fridge, and a washer and dryer in the unit. The thermostat worked, the bed was comfortable, and the powered shades were a nice touch. The view was great too. It cost a lot less than the other places in the area. I recommend it.

The location was great for where we needed to go, and when I sent photos of the dirt, they offered to refund the cleaning fee. I appreciated that, although the place was bad enough that I feel we should have received a full refund. The check-in page had a clear typo in the parking instructions, leaving us unsure what to do. I contacted the “virtual clerk” and waited an hour for a reply, so the advertised 24/7 help wasn’t much use. We stayed one night in unit 601 on floor 6. The apartment looked rough and much worse than its online photos, and it seemed very heavily used, as if someone lived there and had just gone away for the weekend. When we entered, we could tell it hadn’t been cleaned. There were stains on the floors and walls, dust everywhere, and dry pee on and down the side of the toilet. There was hair in the shower and in the supposedly clean beds, unswept floors, crumbs in the sink and on the rugs, dusty nightstands in both bedrooms, and dry toothpaste in the bathroom sink. Several lamps didn’t work. We nearly ran out of toilet paper despite being there only one night, and there was no extra bedding for our child. The mattresses were very hard, the blankets and sheets felt scratchy and crusty, and the beds creaked loudly whenever anyone moved. We put a sheet over the couch for our child because the pullout was in such bad shape that we pushed it back in as soon as we opened it. The building itself seemed to be falling apart. The lobby smelled strongly of weed every time we went in or out, and the security guard wasn’t friendly or even acknowledging. People loitered and begged for money outside, which made coming and going uncomfortable, especially with our kids. The room was right by the elevator, whose very loud door needs maintenance. The same security code opened both the building and our apartment door, which didn’t feel safe. I regret not spending the extra $100 for a clean, well-kept hotel room.
