Super 8 by Wyndham Diamondville Kemmerer

The parking was right up against the building, with another guest's car only about six inches from our window, so there was no privacy. The window was filthy and wouldn't open to air out the room after a shower. Overnight it was in the 40s, and the heat didn't come on until 8 a.m. There was only a bedspread and sheet, no blanket. Inside, there were urine and vomit stains on both sides of the toilet, stained bedsheets, and a TV that showed an HDMI cable identification but gave us no way to change the source, so it didn't work. When we arrived at 2:35 p.m., they wouldn't let us check in. I know check-in was at 3, but the website said we could request early check-in for a fee. They flatly said no without discussing it. For more than $100, it wasn't worth it at all. The motel sign was missing its T, and there was no grass, just garbage around the property. We would've been better off sleeping in a tent.

I've stayed at about 15 Super Motels, and this was probably the worst. The lot was plowed poorly, including the entrance, even though there was a plow truck parked there. The main road running through the area was in better shape than the entrance. Up front, the parking spots weren't fully cleared, with only about nine feet between the sidewalk curb and the ice. They hadn't put down enough salt either. An older person could easily have slipped and fallen. If it came down to staying there or sleeping in my work truck in winter, I'd choose the truck.

The staff were great when we checked in, and our beds were really comfortable. Traveling with our fur babies, we appreciated getting a room beside an exit. Great place to stay.

We appreciated having a microwave and fridge in the room, and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is old and run down, but it was clean. The hot shower had great water pressure, and the AC worked well through a hot night. With so few choices in the area, it was a good pick for a short night, and we had a great stay.
