Badlands Inn & Suites

I won't be coming back. Room 148 had a working lock, but it smelled horrible and the carpet was so filthy my bare feet stuck to it 😑. I tried calling for someone and waited several minutes, but nobody came. I was first put in room 141, where the door plate was broken, there was no safety bar, and the plate stuck so the door wouldn't close. There was also a piece of poop on the floor, human or animal, I couldn't tell. I had to call someone to meet me at the front desk. The woman who came was rude and didn't seem to care about the room's safety or cleanliness. She moved me to room 148. This isn't acceptable business practice. I'll post photos of the broken door, the poop, and the hotel's general filth.

Our interior room had a floodlight shining in, and the curtains were lousy, so we slept with the light on. The room wasn't clean, and things that should've been repaired were broken. Drive on and pay more for a better night's sleep somewhere else.

I should've turned around when I walked into a lobby that smelled like a thousand pounds of sweaty onions and was in a lot of disarray. I was exhausted, though, so I checked in and parked my truck. The room hit me immediately with a strong, musty mold smell. I'm allergic to mold, and it was so bad I still couldn't catch my breath after several doses of albutraul. I hope nobody else like me stays there and gets sick.

The only bright spot was the young woman at the front desk, who was very sweet. Otherwise, the place was dirty everywhere, from the room and hallways to the parking lot. It smelled bad and had stains all over. They call it pet friendly, but the property is completely paved, with nowhere to take a pet to potty. The pool was full of dirt and out of service. Half the TV channels didn't come in, and the phones didn't work, so you couldn't call the front desk. There aren't any amenities that make the stay worthwhile.
