Best Western Dickson

I’m picky about where I stay, but this place was a great find for an overnight work trip. The room was nicely decorated and very clean, and breakfast was great. I’d happily recommend it and would stay again without hesitation.

For the price, it was a decent stay, and I’d consider coming back, though some things need work. The beds were clean but not very comfortable, so bring your own pillows. The WiFi was incredibly slow, and I had a hard time connecting both phones to the smart TVs to watch YouTube. We ended up watching Cast Away instead. Mobile data may be the better option if you have it. I booked an accessible room for someone recovering from a brain injury, but the icy parking lot made getting to it difficult. The accessible spot hadn’t been cleared, and most guests, including us, had to park at the far edge and cross the ice. The automatic HVAC units couldn’t be switched on or off, and I woke up freezing several times without being able to turn on the heat. The walls were thin enough that we could hear the neighbors having an ordinary conversation. You could also see straight through the bathroom vent into another room.

We spent a week at Best Western Dickson after losing power during the Tennessee ice storm. The hotel was busy and everything was covered in ice, but the staff kept the rooms ready and the free breakfast hot. They were attentive, helpful, and friendly throughout. I’m sure it wasn’t easy for them, and they did a wonderful job.

The bed was firm and the shower had hot water, but that was about all I liked. The carpet had holes, and some towels were so old they were frayed; the rest were thin and rough. Breakfast was mediocre at best, and the stay felt overpriced. I booked after seeing all the glowing reviews and honestly wondered if I was at the same place. This is a shabby hotel. Don’t stay here.
