Quality Inn & Suites Dickson

We drove down I-40 to Waverly and found hotels there charging their usual rates. That was after we were quoted $429 a night in Nashville because of “high demand.” Half the city and surrounding areas had lost power in freezing weather after the ice storm, and hotels were taking advantage of that. It's disgusting, especially after a once-in-a-century storm.

I found bed bugs in my bed, and they looked like stage 3. They'd been there a while, so beware. The hotel moved me next door, but charged my debit card twice, despite saying they'd refund my money and wouldn't charge for the other room. I checked today, and one charge has come off. The other is still pending.

The room smelled like cigarettes, and the smoke detector's battery had been removed, so someone could smoke in there. It makes me wonder whether housekeeping actually cleaned after the last guest. When I complained, the front desk said it was a non-smoking room. There's no way housekeeping could have missed that smell. Getting to the front door to check in was hard because the driveway and parking lot are in terrible shape, with potholes everywhere. I also noticed that every review seems to get the same response, which makes it look like they don't read them or care. We won't be back. Save your money.

The woman at the front desk did everything she could to help. After I complained about the cigarette smell in the first room, she showed me four more and even offered a fifth. The room with the least smell had a door that didn't work, and honestly, I couldn't spend the night there. The service was really good, but the hotel itself is in terrible shape. Every room smelled like a cave. Terrible experience.
