Capri Lynbrook Motor Inn

We checked in around 11 p.m., and by 3 a.m. my girlfriend and I had woken up covered in bed bug bites. The desk worker refused a refund, saying we’d been in the room more than 20 minutes. When I spoke with the GM by phone the next morning, he was extremely rude and didn’t apologize at all. Horrible place to stay, in my opinion.

If you don’t smoke, stay away. We paid for two nights after being told we’d have a non-smoking room, but it smelled of smoke under all the air freshener and chemicals they’d sprayed to cover it up. After a horrible night, we complained and asked to check out with a refund for the second night. They refused. The night-shift staff was rude, too. I wish I could give zero stars. This motel might suit smokers, but it’s no place to rest if you aren’t one.

We left smelling like smoke, and the room itself smelled horrible. The TV picture was unclear, the bathroom was dirty and needs updating, and the whole place feels like it needs an overhaul. There was hair in the shower and what looked like hair on the bed by the pillows when I pulled them back. I’d already asked for fresh sheets after finding that. The rugs looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed, and the bed cover seemed like it was never changed. The AC leaked all over our clothes and bags. I also saw a man outside his room smoking marijuana. An employee was letting women into different rooms and then walking away, which made me wonder whether the beds were being used personally and the sheets not changed. I’ll never stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it.

I know a place like this can be what it is, but the front desk lady was disgraceful at customer service. She sounded like she was from the Caribbean. Guest interaction clearly isn’t her strength; she’d be better off in work that doesn’t involve it. Maybe she should clean toilets instead of the room service staff. Just a disgusting person, if you can even call her that.
