La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Silverthorne - Summit Co

The room wasn't filthy, but it didn't feel clean, and the bathroom was bad enough that we skipped showering there. The vinyl floor was loose and had gaps. There were no lights at the end of the building, which felt like a serious safety concern. Breakfast was a joke: the only hot option was a waffle you made yourself, with cold cereal, a very limited pastry selection, and watered-down apple or orange juice otherwise. The whole place felt dirty and run-down, nothing like the other La Quinta's we've stayed at. We won't be back.

The staff were the one decent part. The rooms and the rest of the hotel felt worn out and dirty, with stains everywhere and a foul overall feel. My bed cover had yellow circular marks all over it and was so uncomfortable that I had to call for replacements. The pillows were hard, yellow, and standard-sized. The toilet paper was wet and wrinkled, and there were water drips on both the room and bathroom doors. Water damage had left the sink broken and the curtains broken too. The carpets throughout the hotel were disgusting, and even the elevators were filthy. Breakfast was a joke, and there was dog poop around the building. For a dated place in this condition, the price is way too high. They charge $340, though this feels like a $100-a-night hotel. I won't list every problem or this review would get too long. It's disgusting.

Breakfast was a mess in a hotel this big, with too few options for the number of guests. I waited 45 minutes to make a waffle for my kids, and by the time I got there, breakfast service had officially ended. I politely asked the attendant for two yogurts, but she said no because breakfast had ended 15 minutes earlier. That was technically true, but a little customer service would've helped. The fitness center was another letdown: both treadmills were broken, the weights didn't have matching pairs, and the rest was worn, dirty, or unusable. The room was filthy, with dust everywhere, as if it hadn't been cleaned in ages. The sheets had blood stains that couldn't be hidden by flipping them, and the bathroom toilet was leaking. I didn't report any of it. It seemed like this was just how they operated, and I didn't want to waste time or have them think I was angling for a freebie. Maybe this works if you just need a cheap place to sleep for a night, but you get what you pay for. My stay was overwhelmingly bad, and I wouldn't return even if I were paid to. If cleanliness, service, or working facilities matter to you, look elsewhere. You've been warned.

The pool and hot tub were only about 70% full, and the hot tub had sand in it. Around the room entrance and bathroom, the flooring was peeling up, and opening the door brought in the smell of pot smoke. Breakfast was awful too. Our booking said full breakfast, but what we got was a limited continental one. When we raised that with the staff, they didn't care about the mismatch and kept saying they couldn't wait until Tuesday when they were “closed,” whatever that means. The only good part of the hotel is the things to do around it. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else.
