Executive Inn

Management was friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were very clean, with a microwave, fridge, and large TV. We needed several rooms for a few nights when multiple family members came to town, and Executive Inn worked out as an affordable option. We’ll stay again!

I was locked out after leaving my key behind, and when I called the office, someone came to let me in within minutes. That kind of help stood out. I travel often for work and have stayed in all sorts of hotels and motels, but this place in the small town of Dimmit, Texas felt unique. I spent about a month and a half there and had a very pleasant stay. The rooms are small, as you’d expect, but the rates are hard to beat for the room quality and service. The shower gets hot, and the heater can blow hot or cold air as needed. The floors were a little cold, though socks took care of that. I was there in mid February during an ice storm, so it made sense. I’d stay again whenever I’m in the area, and would pick this place over any hotel brand in plain view or the surrounding areas. 5/5 stars.

Housekeeping was inconsistent. A few times, towels were taken away and none were left behind, so after long workdays I had no towels to shower with. The towels and sheets also smelled awful and weren’t clean, and the carpet had a terrible odor. The rooms are outdated, the owner is extremely difficult to deal with, and the service overall was poor. It felt like the staff didn’t care about guests at all. For the price, I’d recommend staying somewhere else.

I slept well, and the A/C worked great. The room was fine, with vibrant colors that made it feel happier. The bed wasn’t springy, which suited me. It wasn’t sparkling clean, but it was more well used than dirty and nothing concerned me. The ice maker was awesome, and they didn’t skimp on the ice. I didn’t have a big cooler, but I can see how that would be nice for someone who did. It felt good to have plenty without worrying I was taking too much. There’s a convenience store and a Subway sandwich shop within walking distance. I think the staff, maybe a mom and daughter, could have been friendlier. When I called, I asked who I was speaking to after we’d talked briefly, and she said she doesn’t give her name out over the phone. I like introducing myself and knowing who I’m talking with, so that felt awkward. The young girl who helped was nice enough, but didn’t really engage in friendly banter. That’s just something I enjoy when people reciprocate my friendliness. Maybe there are cultural differences, but I wanted to mention it. The room’s bright colors really did make a difference for me.
