Comfort Inn & Suites Brunswick I-95

The staff were so responsive and the service was really good. I wish I could rate that part separately and give it five stars. But both rooms smelled awful, even after we switched rooms. We think mold may have been the cause: there was a lot of it outside the window, right above the AC, and it may have been blowing into the room. I told the staff, and I hope they deal with it.

The night clerk seemed new, but she was friendly and clearly trying her best. Everyone else we met was nice too, so I'd be happy to stay again. For the price, the room was about what I expected and was clean, with no mold or mildew that I could see. The bathroom was spotless. The mini-fridge acted a little strangely, but worked well enough. I liked having both down and fiberfill pillows to choose from. The lobby and hallways had that faint damp smell you associate with coastal places, though the room itself didn't, which impressed me. Once we found the AC control on the wall across the room instead of on the window unit, we could set the temperature where we wanted, and the unit kept running fine.

The empty pool looked like a swamp, and there were non-guests hanging around the parking lot for much of the time, which made the place feel unsafe. The property next door was even worse, but I'd still suggest paying more to stay somewhere else. The entry tiles, bathroom floor, and shower floor were filthy. I asked housekeeping to clean them, but they didn't, so I bought supplies and scrubbed them myself. There was mold in the shower too. The front desk staff were friendly, but couldn't answer my question about a refund for the last day of my six-night stay after checking out early. I asked for a manager to call, but haven't heard back. Staff seemed poorly trained.

The front desk people were very sweet, but the room was disgusting. The bed had hair all over it, and the sheets and blankets were dirty. There was a roach in the shower, and something was stuck to the mattress with bugs crawling over it. After our first night, we woke up covered in rashes. I waited a few weeks after emailing and calling, but no one got back to me, so I'm leaving this review.
