Motel 6 Brunswick, GA

We were on the road to Fort Myers, Florida, and I was exhausted enough to need somewhere to sleep. This was a last-minute reservation, and I'd stayed at Motel 6 before without anything like this. The room smelled strongly of smoke, was in terrible shape, had poor furniture and stained sheets, and the AC only went on or off. The staff member who checked me in spoke very little English. When I mentioned the smell, he sprayed the room with a whole can, so we couldn't go in right away. He left the door open, and water bugs started coming in. I was about to leave, but he couldn't understand my request for a refund, so my wife and I stayed. We slept on top of the sheet for four hours, then left. It was by far our worst experience.

If zero stars were an option, I'd give it that. When I checked in, the room had no proper blankets and no TV remote. The front desk woman said there were no extras and that management might or might not be coming. It was 7 p.m., and when I asked what else could be done, she offered a refund that would take 5-12 days to reach my card. I never got it. The toilet water had been shut off, and there were bugs and leftover piss from another tendency. This was my worst hotel experience yet. Do not book. I'll be calling the health department.

No TV, the fridge doesn't work, and the shower looks like it's never been cleaned. There are stains on the bed comforter, and the floor looks like it hasn't been swept. The photos can speak for themselves. Horrible.

They quoted me a price of 45, but at arrival it was $24 more69$. The area didn't feel safe, with lots of homeless people living there. I was told the ice machine was down the hall, then, when I couldn't find it, told it was broken. I don't like being lied to!
