Suburban Studios Brunswick of I-95

Under new management, this place has gone from a 2-star property to a 4/5-star one in my opinion. The renovated rooms are really nice, and having a flat-top stove and full-size refrigerator is so much more convenient than a mini fridge. We stayed for a week and could cook, which saved us money on fast food. The weekly rate is one of the cheapest I've seen in the area, and it was quiet. I definitely recommend Suburban Suites.

I was here for a few days on a business trip. At first I wasn't entirely impressed, but it grew on me. Even right off the main highway, it was nice and quiet, and it's in a fantastic spot for visiting anything you want in Brunswick and the Golden Isle. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Just remember to take your keys when you go out. The front office closes around midnight, so if you accidentally let the door close behind you, you might end up napping in your car.

I showed up a little before the 3 check-in time and waited while they swept and mopped. I didn't mind, since that means the room will be clean when you get in. On my first day here, the GM, whose name I forgot because I'm horrible with names, was friendly, positive, and professional when I asked a question about the room. I really appreciated her kindness after my previous stay at another choice hotel. It's an extended stay at a very reasonable price. I haven't explored the property yet because it's way too hot to walk around. My room has a full-size fridge with freezer, microwave, small 3-burner stove, kitchen sunk, raised bathroom sink, and the walk-in shower I requested. The GM cares about guest safety. Visitors have to meet with the office, get noted, and can't stay overnight, which helps protect everyone's safety and peace. Be thankful for that. Other hotels are revolving doors. Thank you.

I booked through Choice, then was told at arrival that there was a $100 deposit. I had reserved a smoking room online, but was told this location has no smoking rooms at all. The manager came across as racist and uncaring. At 11 p.m. we were checked into a room that wasn't ready. We called down for towels and got ones that were already stained. The TV kept blinking in and out. The girl who brought the towels checked it and said they'd replace it the next morning, but I got off work around 10 and it still hadn't been changed. The previous night, the manager argued with the front desk clerk because I had called about the problems. She told the clerk she was aggravating her, and didn't help with anything. I heard it all while the clerk was trying to ask how to put me on hold, and the manager was chewing her out for disturbing her with customers' complaints. Very unprofessional. This shouldn't be a Choice hotel with this service. I've been with Choice for years and never experienced such atrocities. I actually went out and bought a TV. When I went downstairs to pay for my room, the office was closed. The sign said 8:30 a.m., but it was almost 9 and nobody was there. I won't return after this trip. It's now August 30, I checked out on the 26th, and I still haven't received my deposit back.
