Log Cabin Lodge & Suites

We were skiing at Seven Springs for the weekend, and the location worked perfectly. The hotel was close to the Donegal exit of the turnpike, Sarnellis market, Thrifty ski rental, and Out of the Fire Cafe. It took about 10 minutes to drive to SS. We liked having a second-floor room on the top floor, with an A-frame ceiling that made it feel bigger. The space felt like a cozy, all-wood cabin, and was surprisingly large for the two of us. It was very clean and had a queen bed, bunk bed, dresser, open closet, large nightstand table, TV, large fridge, microwave, spacious bathroom, and a desk area with a mirror. The electric fireplace turned on, but an error message flashed and it didn’t give off heat. That was fine with us since the room’s heat worked, and the fireplace was still a nice touch. We called the office to let them know. The only minor issues were the hallway and neighboring-room noise, and a draft near the desk where air seemed to come through gaps in the wood. We weren’t bothered enough to complain or avoid staying again, but mentioned the draft to the office when we checked out. We’d definitely recommend these lovely rooms.

I couldn’t make it to my stay because a recent snowstorm delayed my flight from out of town by several days. The staff at log cabin first moved my reservation forward one night, then fully refunded me even though the cancellation deadline had passed long ago. They didn’t have to do that, and I wanted to recognize the kind gesture from management. I’m looking forward to staying there soon. Kudos to the hotel staff and management, you rock!

Our stay was relaxing, and the staff were very nice and helpful. The room was clean, and free admission to the zoo was an added bonus. My fiancé and I came for his birthday weekend and had reserved the Eagles Nest suite through Expedia, but were initially given a regular room. At the desk, someone said Expedia had put us in that room and changing would cost extra. I showed my email receipt, which clearly said I’d booked the suite. The girl called her boss, and they fixed it so we could switch without an upcharge. I’m glad the mix-up hadn’t led them to assign our suite to someone else. If booking through a third-party site, I’d suggest calling to confirm the reservation was entered correctly. We plan to return in the spring with the grandchildren for an overnight getaway.

We came away happy and plan to return. I took my wife here for her birthday, and it was a lovely, clean, quaint place, almost like renting a cabin. The rooms are rustic but comfortable, and the electric fireplace and hot tub were a nice bonus. There are several stores, restaurants, and bars just a few minutes’ drive away.
