Doral Suites

We haven't been able to sleep here because of the nonstop noise overhead. You can hear people walking on the floor above very loudly, and the planes are constant too. It feels as though the place has no soundproofing, so it's definitely not somewhere to rest peacefully. When we've called reception for help, they haven't answered. This has been a really frustrating and disappointing stay.

The desk staff were helpful, and the rooms are spacious, though very dated. We picked this place for its proximity to the airport, but it's at the opposite end from the entrance and hard to find. There's no getting away from the planes. Breakfast was poor: powdered eggs, frozen precooked sausage, cold cereal, and no fruit.

I'm exhausted and just need to sleep, but the room is in rough shape. The bathtub and carpets are gross, and it smells sour, like mildew. The lampshades and vents are filthy, and all the vents seem blocked. The security latch isn't even installed properly, it's hanging there on half a screw. This could've been charming, but it feels used and forgotten. I'll be talking to management and see what they say.

I booked through a website called splitty, but this motel isn't what it claims to be. It isn't an inn or a suite, just an older motel with some fresh paint and other upgrades. The bathroom had been cleaned with bleach, but still smelled strongly of urine. There was debris on the carpet, and I can see how a cleaner might miss some of it if furniture wasn't moved. I didn't feel safe. The sliding glass doors seemed very weak, so we pushed the sofa against them. The lock didn't feel secure either, so we wedged luggage under the door. There were gaps underneath where geckos or lizards could get in, and we stuffed a towel there. I would never feel comfortable staying here again. If I could've found another hotel, I would've left.
