Exclusive Doral Stay W Luxury Amenities

We had a pleasant stay and the service was fantastic. The location is perfect, and I’d come back. The rooms are so large and have a kitchen and fridge, which may be why the place is considered four stars, since I wouldn’t call it a true four-star hotel. Just keep in mind there’s no golf course view.

The room was spacious and the location was good, but that didn’t make up for the rest of the experience. Online, the photos showed a clean, modern, well-kept place, and what we found was completely different. The room didn’t match the pictures: the lighting was poor, one lamp was broken, the walls were visibly dirty, and several tiles were cracked or broken. The bed frame was damaged and dirty, and the furniture was old and worn out. It felt neglected. Unfortunately, the hotel didn’t look like its online photos, and I wouldn’t stay here again.

I tried to work this out with management, but Mariela Portugal property manage refused to issue a refund or give me information for upper management. Do not stay here. It’s advertised as “Post-Op Recovery in Paradise” on Airbnb, yet my scheduled massages were blocked, causing pain and distress that made my recovery worse and travel home very difficult. My licensed massage therapist was hired independently for post-operative care, but she was denied entry on April 2 and 3, supposedly for “insurance” reasons. I reviewed the terms from Provident Doral and the third-party booking service Vio and found no clause barring a guest’s licensed care provider. When she came back on April 6 to collect her belongings with her boyfriend, they were turned away again. Staff said “Room 202 is to have no access,” allegedly on your personal order. A sign at the security gate listed rooms 202 and 515 as “No Access.” I was never told about this restriction or offered a chance to move, so I couldn’t make an informed decision about staying. On April 1, after my surgery, my friend was helping me while I was still under anesthesia. A security guard at the entrance questioned and challenged my friend when we returned to the room. It was distressing and unnecessary. These incidents created a hostile, isolating environment and denied access to people providing personal care after medical procedures. I checked in on March 31 and initially had a positive impression. There were cleanliness issues below my standards, but I overlooked them because of the room’s size, amenities, and location. I was quiet and respectful to staff and other guests, and left only for medical appointments. I got my full deposit back at checkout, confirming I caused no damage or problems.

We only stayed one night, which was the best part. Leaving felt like a win. We booked because it was near the airport and thought the earlier bad reviews might be overblown. They weren’t. The whole place felt stuck in 1997, and the room was tired and smelled bad. There was a puddle from a leaking fridge across the floor when we arrived. The furniture was old, the floors felt unclean, and the bathroom had no hot water, so the shower was freezing at 6 a.m. The AC wouldn’t blow any air at all, hot or cold. Internet kept cutting out, which meant no TV either. Then the power went out across the entire building in the morning. Staff were vague, as if it were just a normal Tuesday. It’s a place near Doral to keep looking past, unless surviving a night of hassles is your travel challenge.
